Living in Nyon: Just Turn Up

I was browsing through the diary section of a local newspaper in England last weekend and spotted the following letters: BR/A and JTU alongside various upcoming events. These English acronyms were completely new to me. My brain went into overdrive trying to work out what they meant. I then saw a small code at the back of the newspaper that revealed all. BR/A meant, “Booking required/advised” and JTU meant simply, “Just Turn Up”.

I like that, “Just turn up”. It would make life a lot easier if we could do that for everything we attend. But of course, we can’t. Having organised many events in the past I would be horrified if I didn’t know who was going to show up.
