They were exclaiming how lovely it all was, how the sky was gorgeous and uniformly blue, and that they were sat in T-shirts having ice cream by the lake. I, by contrast, was also by a lake in the north of England, but in a raincoat and with an umbrella, bracing myself against torrential rain in the English Lake District. Amazingly, despite the miserable weather there were other people outside and eating ice cream. The sky was uniformly grey.
