Deux pilotes de La Côte figurent parmi les équipages qui se relaieront au manche du DC-3 Breitling parti hier pour un tour du globe par étapes.

Anachronisme sur le tarmac hier à Cointrin où un DC-3 prenait fièrement sa place entre les Airbus, Boeing et autres appareils d’aviation commerciale d’aujourd’hui. Vers 15h30, ce vétéran des airs a pris son envol pour un voyage, avec escales, sur près de 42 000 kilomètres. Durant les six prochains mois, ce bimoteur à hélices – qui célébrait hier son anniversaire, 77 ans jour pour jour après son vol inaugural – effectuera rien moins que le tour du monde avec des escales dans 28 pays, constituant ainsi un record pour un avion aussi vieux.
