In this corner of the globe there are lots of different nationalities, living and working around the Nyon area. I read recently that around 39% of the town’s residents are étrangers and this statistic was really brought home to me a couple of weekends ago.
I was at Nyon’s Autumn market helping out for a few hours at the C.I.S.E.N stand which was right next to the stand of l’association Appartenances. The volunteers from this association had a massive map of the world, glued to some big boards. They asked passers by to mark on the map (with a pin and a length of thread) where they were from, to add their name and then link it back to Nyon. They could also use another thread to link to where other members of their family were living.
