Tour de France: beaucoup de monde sur les routes suisses pour voir passer les cyclistes

Le Tour de France est en Suisse. Le peloton est arrivé ce lundi à Berne, au terme de la 16e étape. Le public helvétique s'est déplacé en masse pour assister à l'événement. Et ils devraient être encore nombreux, mercredi, à l'occasion d'une étape à 100% rouge et blanche, entre Berne et le barrage valaisan d'Emosson.

Le public suisse à répondu présent tout au long du parcours.

Etape du Tour de France, Berne a honoré la petite reine lundi. Sous un soleil de plomb, les spectateurs se sont massés le long du parcours, notamment dans la montée de l'Aargauerstalden qui menait à l'arrivée au Stade de Suisse.

Le gros du public a commencé à affluer en milieu d'après-midi, alors que quelques véhicules officiels passaient déjà sur l'itinéraire fermé à la circulation. De nombreux enfants espéraient emporter un souvenir du Tour parmi les casquettes et les bonbons distribués par le long cortège publicitaire qui précède les coureurs.

Un groupe de supporters de Fabian Cancellara équipé de parasols a pris ses quartiers dès le matin le long de l'Aargauerstalden, près de la fosse aux ours, d'où l'on dispose d'une vue imprenable sur le parcours. Le coureur d'Ittigen (BE) effectuait pour ainsi dire à domicile son dernier Tour de France. Terminant à une honorable sixième place lundi, il mettra un terme à sa carrière professionnelle à la fin de l'année.

L'écran géant installé sur la Place fédérale en plein soleil n'attirait en revanche guère la foule, a constaté l'ats. Seuls quelques aficionados y suivaient l'évolution du peloton dans les chaises longues installées pour l'occasion.
